Lateness: For your safety, please arrive to class on time or 5 minutes early. The warm-up is a vital part of class and missing a proper head-to-toe warm-up can lead to injury. If you are more than 5 minutes late, you may be denied entry. Please note that late students are also disruptive to the class in progress.
New Students: We love new friends! Please arrive 5 minutes early to complete your waiver if you have not already done so in advance. Wear shorts, not leggings! You will soon see why. Ask us about our Pole Newbie 5-class Pass Special!
Parking: There is metered and non-metered street parking. We suggest leaving some extra time to find a spot.
Location: We are located at 1911 East Carson St. one store away from the Rite Aid.
Attendance: If less than 4 people are signed up for a class, it is subject to cancellation. You will receive notice 24 hours in advance if class is cancelled and you will be able to use your class credit towards another class.
Attire: Form fitting shorts and tank tops are best in order to allow your skin to grip the pole during certain moves. Wearing longer shorts, tops or leggings is not recommended because the fabric will get in the way and can cause you to slide on the pole. Leggings or sweatpants are okay for off-the-pole classes.
Please remember that while this an all-inclusive studio where we accept personal expression, it is very important for safety, hygiene, professional and personal reasons to wear appropriate clothing that provides complete coverage of personal body parts. For everyone’s comfort level, we ask that you strictly adhere to our no nudity policy.
Plan to go bare foot: For your first lesson, that is. You may also wear “grippy” socks if you prefer. Regular socks are not allowed as they could cause you to slip. Heels are permitted as long as they have a strap.
Payment types: We accept PayPal, Venmo (@Fitnesswithatwist), Zelle, major credit cards and cash. We do not accept personal checks.
Students teaching during class: While it is tempting and encouraging to help a fellow student learn, please refrain from doing so. Our instructors are properly trained and have over 25 years of combined experience. Please leave the teaching to them.
Please keep with the current pace of the class and do not skip ahead. Doing so can cause new students to try and “jump the gun” by copying you and trying moves that are beyond their ability. Open pole sessions will be offered periodically so that you can work towards your individual pole goals.
Spacing and the Dance Floor: Please do not wear street shoes on the dance floor. The dance area is taped off in order to easily display its perimeter and to allow you to avoid contact with students currently on the floor. No food or drinks are permitted on the dance floor at any time!
Videos & Pictures: For public classes, you will be allotted time to take pictures and videos. Please be mindful not to obtain video or pictures of other students attending the class.
Spotting: Teacher spotting of students during new or advanced moves is currently limited due to Covid. Students will only be spotted in an emergency situation.
Refunds: WE DO NOT OFFER REFUNDS FOR ANY REASON! WE ONLY GIVE ACCOUNT CREDIT. PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN SELECTING YOUR PURCHASES! If you need to reschedule a class, please do so 24 hours in advance. Exceptions can be made only in cases of emergency.
Class Pass Expiration Dates: Five-class passes will expire 90 days after the date of the first class used. This means if you buy your pass one day, but do not use it, we will not start the 90 day count until your first punch. Ten-class passes will expire after 180 days.
Walk-In’s: We are not allowing walk-in’s at this time due to Covid. Please register in advance to secure your spot in class.
Injuries: If you have any injuries we need to work around, please let us know in advance so we can provide a modified or equivalent move that will not exacerbate your injury.
Caring for the Poles & Equipment: For your safety and for the longevity of the poles, jewelry is not permitted during class. Rings in particular can scratch up the poles and earrings could get caught and cause injury. Please do not wear lotion before pole class.
The poles can become slippery with sweat and oils. To keep the equipment in its best shape and sanitize in between participants, please clean the poles by wiping them down with the alcohol solution we provide. If you would like to bring your own spray bottle, we will fill it up for you.
Please bring your own yoga mat for the warm-up portion of the class if desired. Studio yoga mats are not being used at this time due to Covid. If you use the crash pad pole mat, please be sure to wipe it down with the appropriate solution marked “Mats” before the end of class.
Individual Fitness Levels: Everyone's pole journey is different. It is imperative to work to your individual fitness level and not compare yourself to others. If you are joining us from another studio and have pole experience under your belt, we may ask you to “test into” a more advanced class to ensure your ability matches the level of the course. If you are new, please be advised that moves are taught in a particular order for your safety. Individual progressions and regressions may be offered to you depending upon skill level.
Atmosphere: Fitness With a Twist provides a positive and encouraging atmosphere to all. Please no hate speech, bullying or discouraging others in any way. This is a judgement free zone and we are very happy to have you as part of our Pole & Aerial Family.
Alcohol: Alcoholic beverages are not permitted in public classes. Please do not attend class intoxicated or you will be asked to leave.
For private parties, you are welcome to BYOB. All guests consuming alcohol during private parties must be at least 21 years of age.
Intoxicated Party Guests: We want you to have fun, but we need to keep you safe! If you’ve had a few too many during your private party, we will ask you to refrain from additional time on the pole. Drugs are not permitted and will not be tolerated.
Party Start & End Times: Please note that if you are late to a party, it will still end at the originally scheduled time. The same is true for private lessons.
Make-Up Classes: If you are enrolled in a 4 or 6 week session and need to miss a class, you are permitted to take a drop-in class at no extra charge if you notify us in advance.
