  • Should I be nervous? Absolutely not!  It's very common to feel nervous when trying something new and pole dance is no exception.  Please know that we are a fully inclusive and supportive studio.  We always strive to make new students feel welcome.

  • I have no upper body strength. Can I still do this?  Yes!  This is one of the most common questions we receive.  You will be surprised at how much you can do during your very first lesson.

  • Classes are full.  What's up with the waitlist?  When a class you want to take is full, you are welcome to join the waitlist.  You will NOT be charged UNLESSS you get off the waitlist and are booked into the class.  If this happens, you will receive both an email and text message.

  • Where are you located? We are located on the South Side at 1911 East Carson St.  Click here to see the street view.   We are to the left of the green pavilion and two stores away from the Rite Aid.

  • Where can I park? There is metered and non-metered street parking.  We suggest leaving some extra time to find a spot especially on weekends.

  • What should I wear? For pole classes, form fitting shorts and tank tops are best in order to allow your skin to grip the pole during certain moves.  Wearing longer shorts, tops or leggings is not recommended because the fabric will get in the way and can cause you to slide on the pole.   Leggings or sweatpants are okay for off-the-pole classes.  â€‹

  • What about shoes?  For your first few pole lessons, plan to go barefoot.  You may also wear “grippy” socks if you prefer.  Regular socks are not allowed as they could cause you to slip.  Heels are permitted as long as they have a strap.

  • Do I need to register every time I take a class?  Yes!  We do not allow walk-in's.  Please register in advance to secure your spot in class.  Note: Registration closes 1 hour prior to class start time so you must register at least a hour in advance to join the class!

  • Will I share a pole? You may share a pole depending on which class you are taking and how many students are present.   Sharing a pole allows time for observation and recovery, which is important especially if you are new to pole. We have procedures in place to properly clean the poles in between usage.

  • Is it co-ed?  FWT 2.0 began as an all-female fitness studio in 2006.  Seventeen years later, pole dance and fitness has exploded in popularity and has become more mainstream.  Though the majority of our students are female, we now offer co-ed classes so that everyone can have the opportunity to give pole fitness and dance a try!

  • Can I take videos & pictures? Of course!  For public classes, you will be allotted time at the end to take pictures and videos.  Please be mindful not to obtain video or pictures of other students attending the class just in case you go viral on Tic-Tok!   We must protect everyone's priva!cy and only post approved pictures and videos to social media.

  • Is alcohol permitted? Alcohol is absolutely NOT permitted in public classes!  You will be asked to leave  if consuming alcohol during a public class, and/or if you are visibly intoxicated.

Lateness: For your safety, please arrive to class on time or 5 to 10 minutes early.  The warm-up is a vital part of class and missing a proper head-to-toe warm-up can lead to injury.  If you miss the warm-up, you will be denied entry.  Please note that late students are disruptive to the class in progress.

Attendance: If less than 4 people are signed up for a class, it is subject to cancellation.  If class is cancelled, you will be able to use your class credit towards another class.

Students teaching during class: While it is tempting and encouraging to help a fellow student learn, please refrain from doing so.  Our instructors are properly trained and have over 25 years of combined experience.  Please leave the teaching to them.

Please keep with the current pace of the class and do not skip ahead.  Doing so can cause new students to try and “jump the gun” by copying you and trying moves that are beyond their ability.  Open pole sessions will be offered periodically so that you can work towards your individual pole goals.

Missed Classes: If you need to cancel or reschedule a drop-in class, please do so 24 hours in advance of the class start time.   If you notify us 24 hours or more in advance of the class start time, you may use the credit for  a make-up class within 2 weeks.   If you sign up for a class and are a no-show, you have automatically forfeited the payment/class credit on your account.  Members who cancel late or are no show's to a class will be charged a $15.00 fee.  As of January 1, 2024, this fee increased to $18.00.

Class Pass Usage & Expiration Dates: Newbie 4-class passes will expire after 60 days. Passes are non-transferable and cannot be shared.  Class passes cannot be used to book 4-week progressive series courses.  If you register using your class pass and are a no show to class, or a late cancel, you have forfeited the class.  To avoid losing the class, please be sure to cancel your registration at  least 24 hours prior to the class start time.

Canceling a Class: If you register for a class and cannot attend, please go to your dashboard in Momence and cancel so someone else can use your space.  You can view all of your upcoming classes on your dashboard.

Refunds: WE DO NOT OFFER REFUNDS FOR ANY REASON!  PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN SELECTING YOUR PURCHASES!

Attire: Please remember that while this an all-inclusive studio where we accept personal expression, it is very important for safety, hygiene, professional and personal reasons to wear appropriate clothing that provides complete coverage of personal body parts.  For everyone’s comfort level, we ask that you strictly adhere to our no nudity policy.

Spacing & the Dance Floor: Please do not wear street shoes on the dance floor.  Only 8 students should be on the dance floor at one time for pole classes.  No food or drinks are permitted on the dance floor at any time!

Injuries: If you have any injuries we need to work around, please let us know in advance so we can provide a modified or equivalent move that will not exacerbate your injury.

Caring for the Poles & Equipment: For your safety and for the longevity of the poles, jewelry is not permitted during class.  Rings in particular can scratch up the poles and earrings could get caught and cause injury.  Please do not wear lotion before pole class.

The poles can become slippery with sweat and oils. To keep the equipment in its best shape and sanitize in between participants, please clean the poles by wiping them down with the alcohol solution provided.  If you use the crash pad pole mat, please be sure to wipe it down with the appropriate solution marked “Mats” before the end of class.

Individual Fitness Levels: Everyone's pole journey is different.  It is imperative to work to your individual fitness level and to not compare yourself to others.  If you are new, please be advised that moves are taught in a particular order for your safety.  Individual progressions and regressions may be offered to you depending upon skill level.

If you are joining us from another studio and have pole experience under your belt, we may ask you about your past experience and/or to “test into” a more advanced class to ensure your ability matches the level of the course.   Instructors make the final decision as to what moves you are permitted to do.  If you do not follow this rule, you may be asked to leave.

Atmosphere: Fitness With a Twist provides a positive and encouraging atmosphere to all.  Please no hate speech, bullying or discouraging others in any way.  This is a judgement free zone and we are very happy to have you as part of our Pole & Aerial Family.

Alcohol: Alcoholic beverages (BYOB) are only permitted during private parties IF all guests are at least 21 years of age.  Please do not attend class intoxicated or you will be asked to leave.  â€‹We do not serve alcohol.

Intoxicated Party Guests: We want you to have fun, but we need to keep you safe!  If you’ve had a few too many during your private party, we will ask you to refrain from additional time on the pole.  Note that illegal drugs are not permitted and will not be tolerated.

Party Start & End Times: Please note that if you are late to a party, it will still end at the originally scheduled time. The same is true for private lessons.

Make-Up Classes: If you are enrolled in a 4 week session and need to miss a class, you are permitted to take one drop-in class at no extra charge if you notify us in advance.  Students have one week from the end of the 4 or 6 week session to use the make-up class.  Note that you still must sign up for the make-up class to secure your spot.   Just select "Make-up Class" when registering for any of the following options: All-level's Pole, Chair Dance, Twerk Out Workout, Pole Choreo, Pole Prep and Conditioning.
